“Army won’t interfere in public disturbances if not requested by the police – Army Commander

The Chief of Defense Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva told newswave.lk that the Army would only appear between the public in the event of a public disturbance if requested by the police.

The Army Commander also told us that the Army would never come between the public when there was no request from the Police.

However, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva had earlier stated that the Army is bound to protect the country in accordance with the Constitution.
