Police have launched an island-wide operation to find those who have stockpiled fuel and sold it at higher prices.
According to a notification issued by the Police Headquarters, the operation has been launched.
Accordingly, the Police Special Task Force in a search operation in the Hendala area in Wattala has arrested a person who was selling petrol at a higher price.
The 71-year-old man was found in possession of 30 liters of petrol and 750 milliliters, the Police STF said.
The suspect was handed over to the Wattala Police Station for further investigations.
The raid was carried out last night.
