Two persons who had come to obtain fuel at two petrol stations in Dankotuwa and Thambarawila have died yesterday, police stated.
A bus driver who had been waiting for two days at a petrol station at the junction of the Dankotuwa-Negombo main road and a driver who had come to a petrol station at Thambarawila on the Dankotuwa road have died.
Bus driver is a person named H. A. Chaminda Pushpakumara. He was the driver of a bus which transported garment factory workers. He is a resident of Gonawila, Pannala. Police say he fell to his death around 7.30pm.
The other person has been identified as Muhammad Sarifdeen. He died in the driver’s seat when he went to inflate the tires after refueling his car. He is a resident of Kochchikade, Negombo.
An autopsy is to be conducted today.
