The Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa has stated that necessary steps are being taken to recover the country from the economic crisis during a discussion held with the backbenchers of the government yesterday (08).
Therefore, there is no need to worry about that, the Minister has pointed out.
The Minister has said that this situation has to be faced due to the shortage of dollars in the country.
The meeting between Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa and government MPs was held at the Parliament complex this afternoon.
The MPs have promised the finance minister that they will stand by the government no matter what anyone says and that they will sincerely support the government’s decisions and support the government led by the president in rescuing the country from the crisis.
It is reported that all the government backbenchers except Attorney-at-Law MP Premanath Dolawatta were present.
