The State Ministry of Home Affairs states that the competitive examination for the post of Grama Niladhari is scheduled to be held next July.
Its Secretary M. H. M. Chithrananda stated that there are currently over 2,000 vacancies for Grama Niladharis island-wide.
Due to this one officer has to cover the work of several Grama Niladhari Divisions.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs M. H. M. Chithrananda further stated that applications have been called for the competitive examination to recruit suitable candidates for the vacancies.
