Chandimal Jayasinghe, the National Director of the Organizing Committee has taken steps to cancel the Mrs. Sri Lanka – 2021 title with immediate effect from Pushpika De Silva, who recently participated in the Mrs. World beauty pageant representing Sri Lanka.

This was announced by the National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka beauty pageant through their social media platforms.

Accordingly, with effect from today (08), the use of the title ‘Mrs. Sri Lanka’ by Pushpika de Silva is prohibited in any form locally or internationally.

Pushpika, who recently went to the Mrs. World Pageant, was in the final six contestants, but she said on her social media that she came in 4th.

Then a member of the Mrs. World Committee noted that it was wrong and needed to be corrected.

Pushpika de Silva, who claims she did not do so, had in a YouTube interview accused national director Chandimal Jayasinghe and Sri Lanka’s first Mrs. World Rosie Senanayake and said that she suspected that they had conspired to remove her from the Mrs. World crown.

She said in the interview that the jury of the Mrs. World Committee also said that they had voted for her and that she had seen the score.

However, several parties have taken legal action against her in connection with her statements about the Mrs. World beauty pageant.

When Pushpika de Silva was selected in the finals of the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 pageant, Caroline, who was crowned Mrs. World last year, removed the crown from her and put it on the 2nd runner-up, saying she was unfit for the Mrs. World crown because she was divorced.

However, Pushpika later won the crown again because the organizers decided that the divorce matter was not a problem.

However, the incident caused controversy around the world, and the parties later resorted to legal action.

As a result, the Caroline Jury, who brought back the Mrs. World beauty pageant to Sri Lanka after more than three decades from Rosy Senanayaka’s era, decided to give up the crown herself.

Subsequently, Sri Lanka lost the Mrs. World crown.

Following is the statement issued by the Director of the Mrs. Sri Lanka Organizing Committee regarding the removal of this crown which Pushpika will lose for the second time.
