The trade union action initiated by a group of engineers of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to work punctually was stopped a short while ago, said the President of the CEB, Saumya Kumarawadu.
The Union of Engineers (UOC) has taken the relevant trade union action against the transfer of ownership of the Yugadanavi power plant to an American company.
Saumya Kumarawadu also said that the trade union action was stopped as they had promised to hold a special discussion with the President on those issues next Monday.
Meanwhile, power outages will be restored island wide, he said.
He said that electricity has already been provided to several areas and within a few hours it will be able to cover the entire island.
