Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Environment is scheduled to address the Finance and Technology Day (3rd Capacity Building Hub) to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP 26 this afternoon.
It is co-hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the SLYCAN Trust.
It will provide a platform for capacity organization stakeholders to showcase their experience, correct practices, tools and methods.
It also exchanges views on access and management of climate finance with a view to implementing effective climate action plans, lessons learned on capacity building of countries and relevant operators on developing, distribution and implementation of technology.
Article 11 of the Paris Agreement specifies the need for capacity development under the agreement to facilitate technological development, distribution and deployment, and access to climate finance.
