Former Member of Parliament Udith Lokubandara has been appointed as the Secretary to the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over the letter of appointment to Udith Lokubandara at Temple Trees this morning (09).
Udith Sanjaya Lokubandara is the eldest son of veteran politician Wijamu Lokubandara.
Udith Lokubandara was elected to Parliament in 2009 representing the Badulla District and represented the 7th Parliament until 2015.
Mr. Udith Lokubandara has served as a Member of the Consultative Committees in several Ministries and also served as the Monitoring Minster of the Ministry of Defense and Urban Development.
He also served as the Private Secretary to the Fifth Executive President Mahinda Rajapaksa after the 2015 election. He is a past pupil of Lyceum International School, Nugegoda.
Udith Lokubandara studied Economics at the University of London and holds a Diploma in Marketing from the London Chamber of Commerce and worked as a Chartered Marketing Management Professional.
