The body of a man who was found floating in the sea near the Pooneryn Sangupiddy Bridge was found to be infected with Covid today (30).
Acting Senior DIG in charge of the Northern Province Jagath Palihakkara stated that the body, which was wrapped in a fishing net, had deteriorated when it was found a few days ago.
The deceased has not been identified and police believe that the death may have been a homicide. The body was found by a group of passers-by who saw it and informed the police.
Acting Senior DIG Jagath Palihakkara said that a special police team is conducting investigations.
