It is hoped that by the end of November this year, all citizens over the age of 18 will be able to be fully vaccinated, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

The Minister said that by the middle of September, all citizens over the age of 30 will be given both doses of the vaccine.

He was speaking at a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka Andes Garrido this morning.

The Minister of Health told the Cuban Ambassador that they would pay attention to a third vaccine after a full vaccination of Sri Lankan citizens.

The Minister also told the Cuban Ambassador that this would provide an opportunity for an exchange program to share the experience, knowledge and technology of the world’s highest quality Cuban healthcare in Sri Lanka.
