Teacher in Badulla dies from Covid

A teacher who was working at the Badulla Tamil Girls’ College has died due to Covid infection yesterday.

The teacher was admitted to the hospital yesterday (05) in a critical condition and died shortly afterwardsThis was stated by Dr. Palitha Rajapaksa of the Badulla Hospital.

The teacher, K. Shanthi Mallar, is 49 years old. He has been residing at Yampanam Estate, Badulla.

The teacher’s son had previously been infected with Covid. He is currently recovering and it is suspected that he has infected the teacher with the virus.
