Police have arrested the drivers of 11 buses in violation of health guidelines who are carrying more passengers than the required number of seats this morning.
The operation was carried out by the Colombo Municipal Traffic Police and Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Attorney-at-Law Ajith Rohana stated that this operation will be carried out further on buses carrying more passengers.
The operation was launched following a written request to the IGP by State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama to take action under the quarantine law against bus drivers and conductors who carry more passengers than the number of seats.
