80% attendance of Employees in Public Institutions Today

According to the Ministry of Public Administration, all public servants have been recruited as per the government’s policy of normalizing the public service and their attendance has been at an optimum level.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Administration said that more than 80% of the attendance of employees in public institutions had been recorded today.

Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Government, J.J. Mr. Ratnasiri stated that if any public servant does not report for duty, he will be considered as having taken leave.

If the officer does not report for duty after the end of his leave, he will be deemed to have left the service. Mr. Ratnasiri said.

Mr. Ratnasiri said that public servants are required to report for duty as they are bound to act in accordance with the Establishments Code.
