Govt. Uni Lecturers also step down from Online Lecturing

University lecturers have decided to withdraw from teaching online tomorrow (28) against the Kothalawala Defense University Act.

Dr. Rohan Asiri, Secretary of the Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA), has demanded that the government must withdraw the Defense Universities Act and that teachers at all universities in the country withdraw from online teaching and hold protests in front of each university on a daily basis.

Dr. Laksiri said that the academic staff of all the universities are conducting the protests jointly.

Rohan Laksiri also said that as the Kothalawala Defense University Act is militarizing education and students will be excluded from online teaching and other duties until it is withdrawn.
