An 11-year-old schoolboy has been identified as having the Covid Delta variant.
The boy is a resident of Hirigalgodalla, Beruwala, and was diagnosed with the Delta virus during a biological sample test.
According to the Beruwala Medical Officer of Health, the student is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Galle.
