With Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa giving the Opposition an ‘opportunity to right the mistake’ the turmoil in Parliament today puts to an end due to the ‘wrongdoing’ of the Samagi Janabalavega during the no-confidence motion against Minister of Energy, Udaya Gammanpila.

S. M. Marikkar was tasked with presenting the no-confidence motion that is on the agenda today.

Mr. Dinesh emphasized that one should read the Hansard and study the tradition that has prevailed in Parliament so far and present this correctly.
Accordingly, the Opposition continued to shout that it has already been presented as it was on the agenda.
However, the Speaker said that the work included in the agenda will be implemented in Parliament and the name of the no-confidence motion is on the agenda but the Opposition has made a mistake by not presenting it as a motion.
As Marikkar prepared to read it again, government members including Wimal Weerawansa and Prasan Ranatunga protested against the opposition saying that he should go and learn how to file a no-confidence motion. They also stated that it cannot be allowed to read twice.
