The Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) says in a statement that the statement made by the President calling the Kothalawala Defense University Act as an Act of the University Grants Commission cannot be accepted.
The President’s statement that the people are ignorant of the Kotelawala Act is a deliberate misleading of the people of the country, said in the statement signed by President of the Federation of University Teachers’ Associations, Prof. Dr. K. Banneheka and Secretary Dr. Rohan Laksiri.
The Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) has called on the government to refrain from arbitrarily interfering in the regulatory framework for universities and higher education.
