Sri Lanka Clinches ODI Series Win Over Bangladesh After Six Years

Sri Lanka secured a historic One Day International (ODI) series victory over Bangladesh last night, marking their first such triumph against the visitors in six years. The home team clinched the three-match series 2-1, continuing their streak of defeating touring sides on home soil.

In the decisive third and final ODI played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka set a target of 286 runs. Bangladesh, in response, were bowled out for 186 in 39.4 overs, thanks to disciplined bowling by the Sri Lankan attack.

Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka anchored Sri Lanka’s innings with a century partnership. Mendis played a stellar knock, scoring 124 runs to register his sixth ODI century, while Asalanka contributed a solid 58 runs—his 16th ODI half-century.
