The government has decided to suspend the duties of Prisons Commissioner General Thushara Upuldeniya.
This decision was made in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the unauthorized release of an inmate from Anuradhapura Prison under the Vesak Day presidential pardon, without proper approval.
