A total of 19 candidates contesting the local government elections and 63 political supporters have been arrested by police as of 6:00 a.m. today (18), over allegations of election law violations and acts of violence.
These arrests stem from incidents reported between March 3 and this morning, involving breaches of election regulations and related violent activities.
During this period, police received 42 complaints of election-related violence and 142 complaints of legal violations. Authorities have also seized 15 vehicles allegedly used in committing these offenses.
Investigations are ongoing as law enforcement aims to ensure a free and fair election process.
