The Indian cricket team emerged victorious in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final held last night (10).
Batting first, New Zealand posted a total of 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets at the end of their allotted 50 overs. In response, India successfully chased down the target, scoring 254 runs for six wickets with an over to spare.
After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bat first, but India managed to restrict the strong Kiwi side to 251 runs.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a match-winning knock of 76 runs off 83 balls. Shreyas Iyer contributed 48 runs, while KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34 runs.
Rohit Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
This marks the third time India has won the ICC Champions Trophy, further cementing its dominance in world cricket.
