Deputy Inspector General of Police and Police Media Spokesman, Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa, stated that drones have been deployed in addition to police officers to ensure the safety of homes in areas submerged by floodwaters caused by adverse weather conditions.
He further urged parents and guardians to take immediate action to prevent children from playing in rainwater, as such activities could lead to accidents.
To assist or report incidents related to the ongoing adverse weather, a special hotline, 107, has been introduced specifically for the Tamil-speaking community. This initiative aims to provide effective communication and support during this challenging time.
