The wildlife department says that the construction of the elephant-safe fence, delimiting the boundaries of the forest reserves, has been completed by about 80%.
So far the elephant-safe fence has been built covering 5500km.
The wildlife department mentioned that another 1500km of construction work is being done.
After the completion of construction, multi-tasking development officers and civil defence department officials will be deployed to maintain the fence.
Legal action is also to be taken against the people who have illegally erected elephant-safe fences during the new construction.
