Former Member of Parliament and popular actor Mr. Ranjan Ramanayake is going to officially launch his new political party, United Democratic Voice today (9) in Colombo.
The party contesting under the ‘Mic’ symbol has planned to launch its manifesto before the upcoming general elections.
Former President Ranil Wickramasinghe granted presidential pardon while Mr. Ranjan Ramanayake was serving a prison sentence for contempt of court charges.
But since the pardon was conditional, there was no room for him to do politics.
Mr. Ranjan Ramanayake had previously held the positions of Deputy and Minister of State.
