More than 50,000 people have been arrested by the police for violating quarantine laws.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that according to the data received as of 6.00 am today, 50027 persons have been arrested for violating the quarantine law. He added that this group is being arrested since last October.
Steps have been taken to file cases against about 43,000 of those arrested, he said. He also stated that steps will be taken to file cases against others.
