Lakshman Nipuna Arachchi, a former member of the JVP, has been appointed to the parliamentary seat vacated by National People’s Power MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake becoming President.
Mr. Lakshman Nipuna Arachchi received the most votes in the Colombo district of that party after Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The announcement related to his appointment was issued by the Election Commission today (23). He is scheduled to take his oath of office on the 8th.
