The Kurunduwatta Police arrested two members of the same party yesterday (22) in connection with an incident involving a Samagi Jana Balawegaya party member who was injured after being pushed during the second round of vote counting at Royal College, Colombo.
According to the Kurunduwatta Police, the push resulted from an argument between members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya party.
The injured party member was admitted to Colombo National Hospital for treatment after falling to the ground. The police further stated that two individuals, aged 45 and 43, both residents of Wellawatte, were arrested following a complaint regarding the incident.
