The National People’s Power (NPP) has issued an urgent statement regarding the imposition of a nationwide curfew by the President, as the official results of the 2024 Presidential Election are about to be announced.

We trust that the Election Commission and the relevant officials will ensure that the process of counting and releasing the results of the 2024 Presidential Election is conducted correctly and transparently, without any disruptions.
We also trust that the police and other security forces will take appropriate action to ensure the security of the vote-counting centers.
In this context, we believe that the imposition of the nighttime curfew during the announcement of election results is solely for the purpose of maintaining public peace. We urge the security forces to take all necessary measures to ensure maximum peace and stability in the country during the post-election period. We also call on the public to provide their full support in safeguarding peace in the nation.
