The Pathfinder Foundation, an independent research and advisory organization, has released two key publications aimed at accelerating Sri Lanka’s development and ensuring its future sustainability. Copies of these reports were presented to the country’s presidential candidates.
The reports were handed over to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa, Namal Rajapaksa representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, General Secretary of the National People’s Power, and Dilith Jayaweera, a candidate from the Sarvajana Balaya Party.
These reports provide policy guidance that could inform future governance and offer a roadmap to integrate swift economic recovery with long-term resilience for Sri Lanka.
The Pathfinder Foundation, known for its non-partisan approach to addressing critical national and regional issues, regularly publishes policy recommendations. These reports, in line with the foundation’s tradition of providing recommendations to candidates during national elections, directly address Sri Lanka’s pressing challenges.
The first report, titled “Sri Lanka’s Economic Crisis: Policy Challenges for the New Government”, provides a comprehensive analysis of the country’s economic landscape. Compiled after discussions with local experts, the report is structured into three main sections. The second publication, “Steps to Enhance Indo-Sri Lanka Relations,” outlines key actions that can be taken to strengthen bilateral ties. Both reports are available in Sinhala, Tamil, and English and can be accessed via the Pathfinder Foundation’s website.
Bernard Goonetilleke, Chairman of the Pathfinder Foundation, along with Executive Director Dr. Dayaratne Silva, Engineer R.W.R. Pemesiri, Program Executive Rumeka Perera, and Research Assistant Rasaangi Kumarihamy, participated in these events.
