In conjunction with the Esala Perahera, a special concert to attract foreign tourists was held at Kandy’s Candy City Center yesterday.
The exhibition consisted of products such as clothing, local handicrafts, etc. prepared specially for tourists.
This concert, which was held for the tourists coming to Kandy during the Esala Perahera, also consists of traditional dances, upcountry, lowcountry and Sabaragamuwa dances, Angampora battles, etc.
A group of people including the Governor of the Central Province Mr. Lalith U Gamage, the Chief and Education Ministry Secretary Menaka Herath, the Provincial Tourism Director Mr. MU Nishantha and the Provincial Culture Director Ms. Inodani Tambavita joined the concert for the purpose of developing the tourism industry in the Central Province.
