Mr. Pradeep Anura Kumara, who worked as a veteran journalist and press secretary for a long time, passed away last night (14).
At the time of his passing away, he was 53 years old and worked as the Press Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
Mr. Pradeep Anura Kumara, who was adept at manipulating political opinion, was known as a compiler of information for political secret columns for weekend papers.
An alumnus of Nalanda College, Minuwangoda, he entered the media industry as a local journalist for the “Diwaina” newspaper. Later, he worked for Jathika Rupavahini, Hiru FM, and Dinakara Newspaper.
Mr. Pradeep Anura Kumara is a father of two daughters.
The body of the late Mr. Pradeep Anura Kumara is to be buried at his residence at No. 239/3, Araliya Uyana, Minuwangoda Road, Kotugoda.
