The fifth Executive President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that the news reported by several major channels in Sri Lanka that President Ranil Wickramasinghe came to meet him on night day before yesterday (01) is completely false.
Leaving a message on his Facebook account, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa said:
It has been mentioned that “There is no truth in the news that there was a special discussion between President Ranil Wickramasinghe and me last night (01). It is my belief that at a time when the presidential election has been announced, people are being misled by creating false news for political purposes. Therefore, I kindly request people not to be deceived by such false news.”
According to the false report, President Ranil Wickramasinghe had come to Wijerama’s official residence and requested to support him in the upcoming presidential election and Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa had said that he would not give such support at all.
