SL to receive 1.5 million doses of Moderna vaccines this week

The government today announced that Sri Lanka will receive 1.5 million doses of the Moderna vaccine this week.

Prof. Channa Jayasumana, Minister of Pharmaceuticals, Supplies and Regulation said that the vaccine will be given to Sri Lanka through the WHO Covax facility.

The Moderna vaccine was approved for emergency use in Sri Lanka last month.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that 11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be donated to 14 Asian countries, including Sri Lanka.
