State Minister of Finance Mr. Shehan Semasinghe says that permission will be given for the import of vehicles in the coming month of August.
The Minister of State said that permission will be given for the import of vehicles required for business and transportation in the initial phase.
He said that he will announce the government’s position regarding the relaxation of vehicle restrictions in stages by August.
However, the state minister reiterated that the import of private vehicles for consumption is expected in the first quarter of 2025.
