It has been decided in the cabinet meeting today (24) to give a monthly allowance of 3000 rupees to the pensioners of the public service.
Minister Susil Premajayantha said that this special monthly allowance will be paid from September 2024 until the salary discrepancies are corrected.
Minister Susil Premajayantha who gave further comments said,
“A separate committee has been appointed regarding the salary discrepancies in the public service. The committee was appointed to solve the wage disparities in all fields at once. Meanwhile, it was decided to give an allowance of 3000 rupees to the pensioners from September until these activities are completed according to the opinion of that committee. About 7 lakh people will get that benefit.”
