A thief who entered a hotel room in Ella where a Japanese economist who was visiting the country was staying, stole her possessions worth more than 13 lakh rupees.
The police say that the theft took place between 10.00 pm on the 20th and 7.00 am on the 21st.
The Ella police said that 78,000 rupees, 10,000 Japanese yen, a mobile phone, a camera, a pendant with precious stones and a pair of glasses were among the stolen items.
The police say that investigations are underway to arrest the suspects by checking the security cameras.
