Former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra who was in prison has been ordered to be released on bail.
It was by Colombo High Court Judge Mr. Amal Ranaraja.
She has been granted a cash bail of Rs 50,000 and two sureties of Rs 5 lakh each, along with a travel ban.
Mrs. Hirunika Premachandra has been sentenced to three years imprisonment with hard labor after being found guilty of 18 charges including kidnapping and assaulting a young man.
It is reported that she has been granted bail due to filing an appeal related to that case.
