2024 Sino-Russian joint naval exercise begins in South China’s Guangdong province. Its opening ceremony was held on 14th at a military port in Chan Chiang.
China and Russia have extensive ties in the field of naval development. China, which is leading the program this year, says that the joint military exercise mechanism of the navies of the two countries has become stronger. Russia says that such a military exercise plays an important role in raising the professional level of the naval forces and ensuring the security of the maritime zone adjacent to its countries.
Under this programme, warships of the two countries will engage in multiple exercises in a sea area near the city of Chiang Mai. It also includes real weapons training.
