Kantale Police have arrested a mother of three from the Peraru village in Kantale for killing and burning a newborn baby.
Her husband has been working in a Middle Eastern country for four years, police said.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the baby was born by accident in a casual relationship.
According to information received by the Kantale Police regarding the killing and burning of the baby, the police had visited the house where she was staying last evening. Police have revealed that she had killed the newborn baby on the same day and set it on fire. Accordingly, the woman was arrested on suspicion, said Ajith Rohana.
