The unions say that over 15 lakh letters have been piled up due to the 24-hour postal worker trade union action.
The convenor of the union, Mr. Chinthaka Bandara, said that the letters would be distributed within the next two days.
He also stated that the government will be given time until the 24th to provide solutions to their demands including employee recruitment.
Due to the professional action of reporting sick leave, people faced severe inconvenience.
The 24-hour postal worker union action ended at midnight yesterday.
