The national conference of NPP’s Retired Police Collective was held yesterday in Maharagama with the participation of many retired police officers.
The meeting was organized by the National People’s Power (NPP).
The convener of this meeting was the former head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne.
Shani Abeysekera, the former director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and many former heads of the police department were seen participating in this.
However, by sharing photos of the meeting, many criticized on social media the participation of ex-police officers in a politically-sponsored meeting, questioning the transparency of in-service investigations.
