The five-member Supreme Court bench, which concluded the hearing of the fundamental rights petition filed against the non-provision of the local government election on March 9, 2023, as planned, postponed the pronouncement of the verdict indefinitely.
The hearing of this petition was held before the Supreme Court bench consisting of Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Wijith Malalgoda, Murdu Fernando, Mr. Gamini Amarasekara, and Mr. Yasanta Kodagoda.
