The Irrigation Department says that the risk situation in Kalu Ganga, Kelani Ganga and Atthanagalu Oya is gradually disappearing.
Its engineer Mrs. Sakura Dilthara said that due to this, the water level in Gampaha, Ja-Ela, Wattala, Minuwangoda, Katana areas affected by the flood will gradually decrease today.
Meanwhile, she further stated that the water level in the lower areas of the Kelani River Basin, namely Kaduwela, Biyagama, Kolonnawa, Wattala and Colombo, is also gradually decreasing.
Wasantha Senadheera, senior geologist of the National Building Research Organization, said that although the flood risk has subsided, the risk of landslides remains.
