The Kataragama Police have started investigations to arrest a person who seriously sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy at the Kataragama temple grounds.
The police say that the crime took place inside a devol custodian’s (‘Kapuwa’) room in a small dewalaya on the grounds of Kataragama dewalaya.
A child resident of Hungama has been molested in this way and was tricked into taking him to the room by saying that he will give the child a wishing deity image that will make his wishes come true.
This child was molested on March 8. The police received a complaint about it yesterday (11).
It has been identified that the person who molested the child is a frequent visitor to the Katharagam dewala area. The police say that he is a resident of Embilipitiya.
