The second reading debate on the ‘Recovery of Bank Loans (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill’, which temporarily suspends the parate law, will be held in Parliament on the 7th.
The Secretary General of the Parliament Ms. Kushani Rohanadeera said that the Parliament is scheduled to meet from Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th of May.
Accordingly, Parliament will meet on Tuesday 7th of May at 9.30 am and 9.30 am – 10.30 am is reserved for questions requiring oral answers.
Then the debate is scheduled from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm for the Partition Proceedings (Amendment) Bill (Second Reading), Recovery of Loans Granted by Banks (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Bill (Second Reading) containing provisions to suspend Parate Law till 15th December 2024.
The parliamentary affairs related to this week have been decided at the Parliamentary Affairs Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapaksa last April 26.
