The Department of Meteorology has warned 15 districts of the risk of thunderstorms and lightning from this afternoon (12) to night.
In the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, North and North-Western provinces and Monaragala district, there is a high possibility of strong lightning with isolated thundershowers during the evening or night.
Temporarily gusty winds may occur in those areas during thunderstorms.
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the accidents caused by lightning.
