A series of protests across the country by teachers

The Ceylon Teachers’ Union says that it has decided to launch a series of nationwide protests from tomorrow (02).

It is based on several demands, including increasing allowances for the rising cost of living.

Chief Secretary Joseph Stalin said that the government followed an arbitrary practice and increased the allowances of some officials, but no steps have been taken to increase the allowances of teachers.
