Sarath Rathnayake, President of the All Ceylon Egg Producers’ Association, says that the price of an egg in Sri Lanka will drop below 40 rupees by the time the New Year season approaches.
He stated that the issues concerning egg production have been resolved at this point.
He said that it is now possible to provide eggs in Sri Lanka at a lower price than the eggs to be imported from India.
He said that the Indian egg is ready to be sold at 45 rupees, but a local egg can be sold at 40 rupees.
