Former Health Minister Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, who has been remanded in custody, has submitted a bail application to the High Court.
The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court yesterday (14) had rejected the bail request submitted by Keheliya and the rest of the suspects in this incident and ordered them to be remanded until the end of the trial.
The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court ordered that the case be called again on March 28.
Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella, a former secretary of the Ministry of Health, several people from the medical supply department, and the owner of the pharmaceutical company that imported the drug are also in custody in connection with the investigation into the substandard antibody vaccine fraud.
